Forklift lithium battery conversion can reduce charging time, battery-room workload, and daily maintenance, but the project should not begin with battery capacity alone. Fleet managers need to confirm the truck model, voltage platform, counterweight impact, charger matching, connector type, BMS communication, and operating shift pattern before selecting a LiFePO4 pack.
Start with the truck, not the catalog
Record the existing lead-acid battery voltage, Ah rating, box size, weight, connector, cable direction, and charger model. The replacement lithium battery must fit the battery compartment and preserve safe truck balance. A battery that is electrically correct but too light or poorly positioned can affect handling and lifting stability.
Conversion checklist
Check required runtime per shift, opportunity charging windows, charger current, CAN or display requirements, IP rating, heating option for cold rooms, service access, and certificate documents.
